Vanmade only works with clothes that are thrown away. Like these jeans trousers. I picked them from the street just before the garbageman took them. There were huge holes at the knees and a stain a little way down the leg. I decided to make two chickenpatches from denim and free styled machine stitched them including all the tiny details. Then I covered the stain with a broken egg and the two chickens are discussing this issue together. There are many ways to prevent garments from going to the landfill and I try to do my best to do my part and with that I use a bit of humor!

A lot of denim gets thrown away, so I saw it as an opportunity. I took old thrifted jeans and turned them into this denim side bag that I can actually use — one that will not wear off and that I will not get tired of. It's good for books, for school, it fits my laptop. It's functional, very durable, different, one of a kind — and I love it so much. From Waste to Wear: The TSO WEARZ Denim Revival Halter top. I used 4 old thrifted jeans that were headed to landfill, including damaged Levi Strauss jeans. All fabric scraps were saved, no new denim bought. Deconstructed the jeans — kept zippers, labels, seams for character.Washed & cut into patchwork pieces , I had a pattern then hand-arranged each panel to create a one-of-one design. My singer 1306 have me no trouble with the thick denim seams . Many old jeans are dumped — I show how to turn them into high-value, wearable art that lasts. This piece transforms a pre-loved denim jacket into a statement garment using denim scraps that would otherwise have been discarded. I created handmade embellishments from denim in-seams,hems and denim strips and layered them across the jacket to create a playful, textured visual element to the jacket. The main techniques used were fabric upcycling, cutting and embellishment. Rather than treating the scraps as waste, I reimagined them as the focal point of the design, giving the jacket a completely new identity while keeping the original denim garment in use. This piece represents my approach to upcycling ,turning overlooked materials into intentional design details and creating something unique without relying on new fabric. It celebrates creativity, resourcefulness, and the beauty of giving existing garments a second life.

The jeans had another idea ♻️ I started with two pairs of jeans and one plan: make a corset. I cut, stitched, added the lining… almost done. Then I opened the second pair. And that’s when the corset got its most unexpected detail. 👀 A statement denim bow made from the leftover jeans. Two pairs of jeans → one completely new piece.
