I found a stained nature inspired print children's dress on the thrift shop and used it to upcycle a thrifted skinny jeans and polo shirt. I used the fabric to patch the company logo on the shirt and to widen the skinny jeans bottom part. I also turned a paisley printed skirt into a shoulder bag.
I bought this orange linen blouse from thrift store which eventually became tight after a few years. I then upcycled it and turned it into a vest blouse using woven fabric from local weavers, and eventually I tried decorating the side part using the 3 basic colors textile paint. I also made a doll dress from scrap fabrics.
Thrifted denim long sleeve polo shirt was upcycled into butterfly sleeve bolero using old denim pants, while a damaged light blue pants and a thrifted oversized long skirt turned into saya. Left over fabrics were used to make earrings, necklace and used as replacement for damaged sandal strap.
I modify long sleeved blouse and shirts so that we can wear them for this tropical climate. Some of the clothes were thrifted or from balikbayan packages from relatives abroad. Left over fabrics were made into doll clothes and accessories. Most of my upcycle projects consist of linen fabric which is durable, breathable and healing.
This is an old strapless smocked top, flowy dress that has damage in the chest area but I love the color and design of the fabric so I decided to upcycle it. I unstitched the smocked part using the seam ripper and cut the remaining fabric into skirt and halter top. then I made strings from a lavender fabric to use as strap for the halter top and for the wrap around skirt as well. Then there we have the flowy skirt with halter top summer outfit.
