The Story

For decades, the office shirt and trousers have symbolized structure, seriousness, and conformity. I wanted to challenge that narrative by transforming discarded corporate wear into a bold, contemporary look that celebrates confidence, creativity, and self-expression. This piece proves that professionalism doesn’t have to be rigid, it can be relaxed, expressive, and undeniably stylish.

This look was created by deconstructing multiple office garments and rebuilding them through pattern drafting, patchwork construction and corsetry. Every fabric was intentionally selected and positioned to create harmony between contrasting colours and prints. The fitted corset required precise shaping & topstitching

By deconstructing and redesigning thrifted office garments into a modern three-piece ensemble and matching tote bag, I gave both the fabric and its meaning a second life. This design is a reminder that sustainability isn’t just about reducing waste, it’s about reimagining possibilities.
